THE SERVICE IN DETAIL

Web development for businesses that need more than a brochure

Web development is the design and building of your website or web application, the pages, forms and systems your customers actually use. I build responsive websites and custom web apps for small businesses: clear pages that explain what you sell, fast loading on phones, and enquiry forms that reach you properly instead of getting lost.

Most projects start with the pages that earn their keep: a home page that states your offer in seconds, service pages written around the words your customers actually search for, and a contact path with no friction. When a business needs more than pages, a client portal, a booking flow, a dashboard, the same project can grow into a web application instead of starting again.

You work directly with me from the first discussion to handover, no account managers and no hand-offs. Before anything is built we agree the scope, the pages and the first useful version, so the website launches with what matters and the wider roadmap stays separate.

AN HONEST NOTE

When it's not the right fit

If you only need a one-page placeholder tomorrow, or a platform for a large in-house team, this is not the right fit, I will say so honestly in our first discussion rather than sell you the wrong build.

QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU START

How much does web development cost?

It depends on scope: how many pages you need, whether the site includes web app features like a portal or dashboard, and which integrations are involved. A focused business website costs far less than a custom web application. My pricing guide (in the related reading) breaks down the real ranges and the ongoing costs honestly, and after a short discussion I can give you a clear scope for your own project.

How long does a website take to build?

The timeline follows the scope we agree before development starts: the pages, the content and the first useful version. You review the work in understandable stages as it comes together, and a focused first version launches before the wider roadmap, you are not waiting for everything before anything is live.

What do you need from me to start?

A short explanation of what your business does, the problem you want the website to solve, and the next step you need from visitors. Logos, photos or existing content help if you have them, but none of it is required to begin the discussion.

Will I work directly with you?

Yes. This is my personal practice, you discuss the project directly with me, from the initial scope through review and handover. The same person who plans your website builds it.

Can we start small and add more later?

Yes, that is the normal way of working. We decide what matters now, launch a focused first version, and keep the wider roadmap separate, so later additions are planned properly instead of patched on.

What happens after the website launches?

The handover explains what is complete and how your website is operated and maintained. I stay available for questions about the work I delivered, and improvements or ongoing support can be discussed as a separate scope whenever you need them.
