Pakistan's rice trade, finally in one app

Pakistan grows some of the finest rice on earth. Basmati from Punjab travels to dinner tables on every continent. Yet the trade behind it still runs the old way: phone calls, paper notes, and memory.

I am CH Naveed Ashiq. I design and build web platforms, SaaS products and AI automation. RiceTrade is my own product, and I am building it to give the rice trade one proper home: an Android app where mills, brokers, farmers and commission agents meet, talk and trade in one place.

You can see the app, its screens and the download link here: https://naveedashiq.com/ricetrade

The Problem: A Trade That Runs on Phone Calls

Ask anyone in a mandi how deals happen today. A broker calls five mills. A farmer waits to hear what his crop fetched. A buyer asks around for a lot, writes the details on paper, and hopes he remembers them right next week.

Nothing is written down in one place. Nothing is tracked. If a number is forgotten, the deal restarts from zero.

RiceTrade replaces that scramble with a system. Listings are written. Chats are saved. Deals are tracked. The trade keeps its personal way of talking, and loses the chaos.

The Marketplace: Every Listing, Fully Labeled

The Market is the heart of the app. Members post real rice listings, and every listing carries the details a trader actually needs before he picks up the phone.

Rice type: Super Basmati, IRRI 6, Kainat 1121 and more, named clearly

Quantity: The real tonnage, stated up front

City: Kasur, Larkana, Gujranwala: where the lot sits

Full details: Everything a buyer needs to judge the lot

One rule surprises people: prices stay inside the app. There is no public price tag for the whole internet to copy. Buyers and sellers talk inside RiceTrade and agree the price directly, the way this trade has always worked, now with a record of it.

City filters help members find lots near them, and the market is split into Buy and Sell, so both sides of the trade find their place fast.

Chat That Closes Deals

Finding a lot is only half the work. Closing the deal is the other half, and that happens in chat.

RiceTrade chat works the way people already talk: Messenger style, with text, voice notes, photos and documents. A buyer can ask about a lot in a voice note. A seller can send photos of the actual grain. Papers can travel in the same thread.

Then comes the part I care about most. An offer made inside the chat can become a tracked deal, with its own deal number. Both sides always know what stage the deal is at. No more "which lot were we talking about?" The chat, the offer and the deal stay connected.

And the record does not end when the chat goes quiet. The Orders side of the app keeps a member's deals together in one place, so he can open the app any day and see exactly where each of his trades stands.

One App, Four Trades

The rice trade is not one job. It is four, and each one works differently. So RiceTrade gives every category its own dashboard, built for its own work.

Rice Mill: Stock, orders and mill side deals in one view.

Broker: Buyer side and seller side, kept clearly apart.

Farmer: List the crop and talk straight to buyers.

Commission Agent: Arhti work, mandi deals and connections.

The app itself stays simple to move through: Home, Market, Chat, Orders and Profile. A member profile shows the member's listings and the deals in progress, so the other side can see who they are trading with.

Smart Ranking: Active Members Get Found First

A marketplace only works if serious people are easy to find. RiceTrade ranks members with that in mind: members who stay active and complete deals are found first in search.

Show up. Reply. Close deals properly. The app notices, and the market finds you faster.

Secure by Design

Trade runs on trust, and accounts carry real business. Every RiceTrade account is protected with Google sign in, two step verification and login alerts. If someone signs in to your account, you hear about it.

Your listings, your chats and your deals stay behind your own secure account, not scattered across call logs and paper slips.

Built to Scale

I did not build RiceTrade as a small demo. It is designed from day one to stay fast as the market grows across Pakistan, from the first members to a national trade community. Every part, from listings to chat to deals, is built and tested step by step, on real devices, at every stage.

Where RiceTrade Stands Today

Honesty matters more than hype, so here is the exact position. RiceTrade is in active development. The Android app is built and tested stage by stage, and an iPhone version is planned for the future. The sample screens on the product page show demo lots, so you can see exactly how a listing, a chat and a deal read inside the app.

This is a product being built in the open, one solid stage at a time.
